ABOUT STEELGUARDIAN

Built to bridge the sourcing gap.

We started SteelGuardian because we saw an opportunity to help more Canadian businesses benefit from buying directly from overseas manufacturers—without building an international sourcing operation of their own.

WHY WE STARTED

Buying at scale shouldn't require an in-house sourcing department.

Many Canadian distributors, rental companies and growing resellers have the purchasing power to benefit from buying directly from overseas manufacturers. They understand the value of buying in volume and are prepared to invest in inventory for better long-term economics.

But purchasing directly from a factory involves more than negotiating a price. It takes manufacturing relationships, clear product specifications, production coordination, international shipping and an understanding of the costs and risks involved.

Larger companies may have dedicated teams to manage those activities. For other businesses, maintaining that capability internally may not make economic sense. We created SteelGuardian to help bridge that gap.

We're not here to replace a buyer's expertise. We're here to make international sourcing more accessible through an experienced, local commercial relationship.

OUR ROOTS

Our roots are in relationships.

SteelGuardian grew from longstanding family sourcing connections and manufacturing relationships developed over many years. Fencing products sourced through these relationships have served the Canadian market for more than 15 years.

That experience reinforced an important lesson: a successful purchase isn't simply about finding the lowest price. It's about knowing what you're buying, understanding who you're buying from and making sure the details are managed properly. We saw an opportunity to make those relationships and capabilities available to more Canadian businesses.

HOW WE WORK

International sourcing. Local relationships.

We're based in Edmonton, Alberta, and believe there's real value in doing business with someone local. We want to understand our customers' businesses, not simply process purchase orders. Competitive pricing matters, but so do product specifications, dependable communication and having someone accessible when questions or challenges arise.

01

Understand your business

Take time to understand purchasing volumes, product requirements and priorities before recommending a supply approach.

02

Manage the details

Coordinate specifications, supplier communication and shipping arrangements so important details do not fall through the cracks.

03

Follow through locally

Offer responsive service and a Canadian point of contact throughout the purchasing relationship.

WHERE WE'RE GOING

Fencing is where we start. Sourcing is what we do.

Temporary fencing, gates and accessories are our primary products today. We provide wholesale customers with Canadian inventory for replenishment and factory-direct sourcing for container-scale purchases and custom requirements.

Our broader vision extends beyond fencing. We want to help Canadian businesses identify worthwhile sourcing opportunities where established manufacturing relationships, purchasing volumes and effective coordination can make a meaningful difference.

We're not trying to be everything to everyone. We want to be a dependable sourcing partner for businesses that value competitive purchasing, practical expertise and personal service.

Let's talk about your next order.

Have an upcoming inventory purchase or an international sourcing requirement? We'd welcome the opportunity to discuss it.
